CM Fadnavis Approves New Link Road from Bandra Fort to Sea Link to Ease Pali Hill Traffic

Mumbai :- In a major step to ease persistent traffic congestion in Bandra (West), Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given in-principle approval for a new link road connecting near Hotel Taj Lands End, close to Bandra Fort, to the Versova-Bandra Sea Link (Swatantryaveer Savarkar Sea Bridge). The initiative aims to streamline traffic movement, especially towards the heavily congested Pali Hill area.
The announcement came during a high-level infrastructure review meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House. CM Fadnavis directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to begin preparing a detailed plan for the proposed road.
Other key projects discussed included the rehabilitation of slum clusters in Maharashtra Nagar and Shastrinagar near Bandra Station, land transfer from the Bandra BEST depot for a development road, and redevelopment plans for the old BEST colony in Santacruz (West)

The Chief Minister also instructed MHADA to begin the redevelopment of transit camps on plots No. 7 and 8 in Bandra (West), currently occupied by slums like Shastrinagar and Qureshi Nagar, to enhance living conditions and secure government land.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, and senior officials from multiple government departments participated in the meeting.
