Mumbai :- In a major political development, the former mayor of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and deputy leader of the Ubatha group, along with hundreds of his supporters, joined the Shivsena party today. This significant move saw the participation of leaders and office bearers from key regions including Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Thane, Raigad, and Jalgaon.
The event marked a strong show of strength for Shivsena, especially after the Mahayuti government came to power. The government has focused on transforming Mumbai, with initiatives such as cleaning the city’s streets and infrastructure—a move hailed as historic since the British era.
Notably, around 45 to 50 corporators from the Ubatha group have rejoined their original party, Shivsena. Furthermore, nearly 70 corporators currently serving in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation from various political backgrounds have also shifted their allegiance to the saffron camp. This momentum led Shivsena leaders to express confidence that the saffron flag of Mahayuti will firmly establish its presence in the upcoming municipal elections.
Party entries today also came from Dharavi, Vikhroli, Kanjoor, and Bhandup, including key functionaries like the Women’s Division President, Branch Heads, Taluka Heads, Youth Wing leaders, and representatives from the National Congress in Jalgaon, the Ubatha group, and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction. Additionally, 18 sarpanchs from Mangalvedha taluka in Solapur and members of the Hindustan Film Workers Sena Federation, along with Christian community leaders, joined the Shivsena
.
The induction ceremony was attended by prominent leaders including Rohyo Minister Bharat Gogavale, MP Sandipan Bhumre, MLA Ashok Patil, Shiv Sena Secretary Ram Repale, former corporator Suvarna Karanje, and other top party officials.
