Mumbai :- In a major citywide security drive ahead of Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar’s retirement on April 30, the Mumbai Police executed a massive crackdown, “Operation All Out,” from 11:00 PM on April 26 to 2:00 AM on April 27, 2025. Special Commissioner Deven Bharti and a host of senior officials oversaw the action.
The operation mobilized Additional Commissioners from all regions, Special Branch and Security units, Zonal Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Senior Inspectors, and officers from every police station in Mumbai. Joint Commissioner (Law and Order) Satyanarayan personally conducted field inspections to monitor the operation’s progress.
During the intensive campaign:
192 combing operations were carried out across Greater Mumbai.
10 wanted fugitives were arrested.
40 individuals were charged under Section 142 of the Mumbai Police Act.
19 raids were conducted targeting illegal arms, narcotics, gambling, and other illicit activities.
28 persons were detained under non-bailable warrants and 2 under standing warrants.
64 preventive actions were taken under Sections 120 and 122 of the Maharashtra Police Act against suspicious individuals.
Additionally, 111 checkpoints were set up, leading to:
Inspection of 7,235 two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Issuance of 1,836 challans for traffic violations under the Motor Vehicles Act.
63 drivers were booked for drunk driving under Section 185 of the Act.
Mumbai Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining heightened vigilance, particularly in light of recent national security concerns, and stated that similar proactive operations will continue to protect the city.
