Mumbai : Flight operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will come to a halt for six hours on May 8, 2025, as the airport undergoes critical maintenance work. The shutdown, from 11 AM to 5 PM, will impact both domestic and international flights, with airlines expected to reschedule or cancel services during this period.
According to airport officials, the temporary closure is part of scheduled runway repairs and system upgrades aimed at improving safety and operational efficiency. Airlines have been informed well in advance to help passengers adjust their travel plans. Travelers booked for flights on May 8 are advised to confirm their flight status with their airlines before arriving at the airport.
“This planned maintenance is crucial for long-term operational reliability. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate passengers’ understanding,” said a CSMIA spokesperson.
To mitigate disruptions, some flights may be diverted to nearby airports such as Pune, Ahmedabad, or Goa, while others could see timing adjustments. Authorities have assured that contingency measures are in place to minimize delays.
Passengers are encouraged to stay updated through airline notifications and allow extra time for potential schedule changes. Further updates will be shared as the maintenance date nears.
