Mumbai :- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari confirmed on Monday that the long-delayed Mumbai-Goa highway will finally be completed by June this year. The announcement brings hope to thousands of commuters and tourists who have faced years of bumpy, pothole-filled rides on the route.
Gadkari also revealed that physical toll booths nationwide will soon be replaced with a modern, automated toll collection system. A new policy, set to be unveiled in the next 15 days, will use GPS and number plate recognition to deduct toll fees directly from drivers’ accounts, easing traffic bottlenecks and improving efficiency.
Expressing confidence in India’s infrastructure growth, Gadkari stated, In just two years, India’s roads will surpass those of the United States in quality. Regarding the Mumbai-Goa highway, he acknowledged past delays but assured, All challenges have been resolved, and the highway will be fully ready by June.
The minister made these remarks during the Vasant Vyakhyanmala event in Dadar, organized by Amar Hind Mandal. The upcoming toll reforms aim to end long queues at plazas and provide a seamless travel experience for motorists.
