Thane: The AI-driven Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) installed at Cadbury Junction has brought a remarkable improvement in traffic discipline, recording over 30,000 violations within just 75 days of operation. Activated on September 1, the system uses high-definition CCTV cameras to monitor traffic round the clock, resulting in a 55% reduction in violations.
The initiative is part of a broader plan to deploy 350 similar systems across Thane to boost road safety and ease congestion. Meanwhile, the Thane Traffic Police have collected ₹30.85 lakh in fines since the system went live and continue to urge motorists to follow traffic rules to avoid penalties.
