Mumbai : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Eknath Shinde met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi amid rising unease within the ruling Mahayuti alliance. The meeting followed reports that BJP state president Ravindra Chavan has intensified an alleged “Operation Lotus” in the Kalyan-Dombivli area.
Shinde reportedly conveyed his displeasure over the BJP’s aggressive push to attract Shiv Sena corporators, cautioning that such moves could weaken trust within the alliance and impact their performance in the upcoming municipal elections.
The alleged political outreach by the BJP, targeting influential Sena leaders in the region, has added to growing political friction — a development that could significantly alter the power balance in Maharashtra’s local governance landscape.
