Massive Manhunt Underway After Fatal Firing in Banga

Police have launched an intensive manhunt after a deadly firing incident near the Banga bus stand in Nawanshahr district that claimed one life and left four others seriously injured.

According to officials, unidentified assailants in a white Hyundai i20 opened fire on a Scorpio carrying five youths — Honey Bal, his brother Harpreet, Rimple (22), Sujal (21), and Sahil. Rimple later succumbed to his injuries at DMC Ludhiana, while the remaining victims continue to battle for their lives.

An FIR has been registered, naming six suspects, including one identified as Ajay, under multiple sections of the Arms Act and related laws.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mehtab Singh Gill said that CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed, and toll booth as well as traffic records are being scrutinized. Raids are being conducted across nearby districts to track down the accused.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack may be linked to an old rivalry, as one of the injured, Honey Bal, is the brother of Babbu Maan, who reportedly has a criminal background.

Police have urged residents and local shopkeepers to share any information that could assist in identifying or locating the shooters.
