Mumbai, Nov 7, 2025: Ahead of the upcoming General Elections of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) 2025, the Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) has announced a special programme for conducting the draw of lots to determine seat reservations under various categories — Scheduled Caste (Women), Scheduled Tribe (Women), Backward Class of Citizens (General), Backward Class of Citizens (Women), and General (Women).
The event will also mark the publication of the draft reservation list, following which citizens can submit their objections and suggestions from November 14 to 20, 2025, at designated offices across Mumbai.
This step is part of the SEC’s preparations to ensure a transparent and inclusive process for the forthcoming BMC elections.
