Pune : The Maharashtra Revenue Department has suspended Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale for his alleged involvement in an irregular land transaction in the Bopodi area of Pune. Authorities clarified that this action has no connection with the ongoing investigation involving Parth Pawar.
According to officials, Yewale, while serving as Pune City Tehsildar, allegedly transferred a plot of land originally owned by the Agriculture and Dairy Department to a private individual, violating government rules. The department termed this a serious misuse of administrative power.
The suspension was ordered following a departmental probe, and Yewale has been barred from taking up any private work during the inquiry period.
The state government has also directed a detailed investigation into the Bopodi land deal, reiterating its commitment to prevent misuse of public land and ensure transparency in land transactions.
