Mumbai, October 30, 2025:
In a bold crackdown on local crime, the Mulund Police arrested notorious gangster Balbir Singh Baldev Singh Lamba, popularly known as Ginni, who had long terrorized residents and businessmen in Mumbai’s Mulund Colony.
Police sources said Ginni, facing several serious charges including attempted murder and extortion, had recently resurfaced and begun threatening local shopkeepers and traders. He allegedly demanded ₹10,000 per month from a billiards academy owner for “protection,” and even brandished a pistol and steel rod to intimidate victims.
In a move aimed at restoring public confidence, police paraded Ginni through the streets from his residence to the station — an act that drew large crowds and quickly went viral on social media. Officers said the parade was meant to send a clear message that no criminal would be allowed to instill fear in the community.
Locals revealed that Ginni had built a reign of terror over the years, routinely assaulting those who refused his demands and extorting hawkers and businessmen.
Mulund Police have launched multiple investigations into his activities, and further legal action is underway.
