Mumbai : In a significant operation in Goa, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) apprehended four individuals, including the prominent figure known as Danish Merchant alias “Danish Chikna”, believed to be a close associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
According to NCB officials, Danish Merchant is accused of operating a major drug manufacturing unit in Mumbai’s Dongri area and managing a widespread narcotics supply chain across India. The Goa-based arrest was executed late at night by the NCB’s Mumbai team following specific intelligence.
This arrest is being hailed as a major setback for Dawood Ibrahim’s alleged drug trafficking network. Authorities believe the detentions will open up new leads on logistics, funding, and distribution routes tied to the syndicate. The NCB is now conducting detailed interrogations into the full scope of the organisation, its financial transfers, and regional links.
