Mumbai : Despite its massive box office success, Kantara: Chapter 1, directed by Rishab Shetty, is set for an early OTT release. The film, which has reportedly grossed over ₹816 crore worldwide, continues to perform strongly in theatres, yet will arrive on streaming platforms sooner than expected.
Producer Cheluve Gouda clarified that the early release is not due to any decline in audience turnout but because of a pre-existing agreement made nearly three years ago. As per the deal, the South-language versions of the movie will premiere on Prime Video on October 31, while the Hindi version will debut around eight weeks later.
Industry experts note that post-pandemic trends have shortened the gap between theatrical and digital releases, making early OTT drops increasingly common. For fans, this means they can enjoy the epic saga of Kantara: Chapter 1 both on the big screen and from the comfort of their homes.
