Mumbai : A swift operation by the Kalachowki Police has led to the arrest of a habitual offender who duped a pedestrian of gold jewelry weighing around 30 grams.
According to police officials, the complainant had lodged a report stating that while walking on the sidewalk, unknown individuals approached him, warning that thieves were ahead who might steal his gold ornaments. Pretending to help, they tricked him and escaped with his jewelry.
During the investigation, the accused was identified as a repeat offender who had fled to Pune. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police traced his location to Akola. A coordinated and well-planned operation resulted in his successful arrest.
Authorities said further investigation is underway to recover the stolen jewelry and identify possible accomplices.
