Mumbai : A massive fire broke out late Sunday night at a chemical warehouse located near Nashik Highway in Lonad village, Bhiwandi. Thick clouds of smoke billowed into the sky, sparking panic among local residents.

The fire started around 9:45 pm at the Sona Devi Logistics unit. Fire brigades from Bhiwandi and Kalyan, supported by private water tankers, rushed to the spot and battled the flames through the night. The blaze was brought under control by Monday afternoon, though cooling operations are still in progress.

Officials confirmed that the godown was a single-storey structure, but it is yet to be ascertained whether only chemicals were stored inside. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported.
