Minor Driving Mercedes at High Speed in Mulund, Mother Booked

Mumbai: The Mulund Police have booked a 45-year-old woman after her 16-year-old son was caught driving a Mercedes-Benz recklessly at high speed in Mulund (West).

The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. on September 27, when police constable Rajendra Chougule spotted the luxury car speeding on MG Road near Panch Rasta junction. Despite attempts to stop the vehicle, the boy refused to halt until police and local citizens managed to intercept it.

The teenager initially claimed to be 18 but failed to produce a license. On verification, documents revealed he was only 16 years and seven months old. His mother, Uma Rakesh Dhingra, was then booked under Section 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act for allowing a minor to drive.

According to eyewitnesses, the boy endangered several motorists and pedestrians with his reckless driving. Police have detained the vehicle and confirmed that further investigation is underway.
