Mother Beats Children Over Demand for Chicken Lollipops During Navratri — Son Dies, Daughter Critical

Palghar, Maharashtra :- In a tragic incident from Dhanasar Kashipada village in Palghar district, a seven-year-old boy lost his life and his elder sister was left critically injured after their mother allegedly assaulted them for insisting on eating chicken lollipops during Navratri fasting.

Police have identified the accused as 40-year-old Pallavi Ghumde, who has since been arrested. She had been living with her sister following marital disputes with her husband, Ganesh.

According to investigators, the children’s repeated demands for non-vegetarian food during the religious fasting period enraged Pallavi, who allegedly attacked them with a rolling pin. The younger child, Chinmay Ghumde, sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot, while his sister remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and gathering evidence. The shocking case has triggered outrage in the local community, with residents mourning the loss of the boy and demanding strict action against the mother.
