Mumbai, Sept 26 :- A 28-year-old woman passenger was injured on Thursday evening after stones were pelted at a local train near Rea Road station. The incident occurred around 7:15 PM when the GO–65 train was passing the area.

The victim, identified as Shivani from Parel Village, was standing near the door of the ladies’ compartment when she was struck on the head. She received first aid at Cotton Green station and was later admitted to KEM Hospital for treatment.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) and railway officials immediately inspected the site. Although no suspects or shelters were found near the tracks, local residents were questioned.

Authorities have raised serious concerns about the increasing cases of stone-pelting on suburban trains, warning that such acts put commuters’ lives at grave risk. The GRP Wadala unit has launched an investigation to trace those responsible.
