Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Bust ₹25 Crore Cyber Fraud, Five Arrested

Pune: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have arrested five individuals accused of running a large-scale cyber fraud that duped over 150 residents and caused losses exceeding ₹25 crore across the country.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Yasir Abdul Majid Shaikh, Mohammad Sultan Ahmed Mohammad Jeheruddin, Maajh Afsar Mirza, Hussain Tahir Sohail Shaikh, and Baburao Shiv Kiran Meru.

According to officials, the accused lured victims by promising high returns on small investments but instead siphoned off their money. The cyber police station acted swiftly, tracing and apprehending the group.

Authorities are now investigating the full scope of the scam, identifying potential victims, and probing whether the suspects were linked to similar fraud operations elsewhere.
