Mumbai : The Mumbai Police have dealt a major blow to the notorious Bol Bachchan Gang by arresting two of its prime members, Ramesh Jaiswal (46) and Nilesh Ghag (33), both residents of Chembur. Known for their elaborate fraud schemes, the gang has long been on the radar of law enforcement.
The arrests were made after police traced the suspects through CCTV footage and intelligence inputs to Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad and Mundhwa areas. The operation was led by Zone 10 Deputy Commissioner Dutta Nalawade and Senior Inspector Iqbal Shikligar.
Investigations revealed that Jaiswal alone faces 81 criminal cases across Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayandar, and Vasai-Virar. During the crackdown, police recovered valuables linked to at least six separate cases of theft and fraud.
One recent case involved a 70-year-old victim, Kistura Choudhary, who was robbed of gold rings worth ₹3.4 lakh near the Mahalaxmi caves in Andheri on September 16. With the duo’s arrest, multiple cases registered at police stations in Borivali, Kalyan-Kolshewadi, Mahatma Phule, Bazaar Peth, and Dombivli-Ramnagar have now been cracked.
Authorities believe the gang’s operations extend further and are continuing investigations to uncover the full scope of their criminal network.
