Mumbai : The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested Royal Manjit Singh, a 37-year-old gangster wanted in multiple criminal cases in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh was caught in Bandra and later handed over to the J&K Police for further investigation.
Police said Singh has over 20 cases registered against him, including charges of murder, drug trafficking, and extortion. He had been absconding after being booked by Jammu’s Bus Stand police under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, related to organised crime, criminal intimidation, and house-trespass with intent to assault.
Singh has also been linked to high-profile gangland killings, including the murder of Rajesh Dogra in Mohali and the 2009 killing of Amandeep Kaur, son of a former NC MLA.
Based on intelligence inputs, the Crime Branch intercepted him in Bandra and produced him in court for a transit remand, enabling his transfer to Jammu for trial.
