A deeply disturbing case has come to light in Kalyan, where seven men allegedly sexually assaulted a young woman repeatedly over the last five months, leading to her pregnancy. The case began with a friendship that developed between the victim and a youth named Rahul Bhoir. Their relationship soon turned physical, and without her consent, Rahul allegedly filmed a video of their encounter.
Police reports indicate that this video was shared with Rahul’s friend, Deva Patil, who then began to threaten the victim — coercing her into further sexual acts under the threat of making the video viral. Over time, the video was circulated among five additional acquaintances: Ajit Survase, Gaurav Survase, Harshal Polse, Jayesh More, and Kiran Survase. Each of these individuals allegedly demanded sexual favors, using the threat of the video to blackmail the victim. All seven are said to come from well-off families in the Bhiwandi and Murbad areas.
The relentless abuse drove the victim into a state of deep mental distress, and as a result of the repeated assaults, she was left pregnant. The shocking ordeal came to light only when the video reached her family, at which point they approached police at the Mahatma Phule Police Station in Kalyan. Swift action was taken, and all seven accused have been arrested and charged under the POCSO Act.
The victim, still a student, lived with her mother near the Mahatma Phule Chowk. The case has shocked the local community and prompted calls for greater support and protection for victims of sexual assault.
