Mumbai : Maharashtra is reeling under relentless heavy rainfall that has caused wide-scale devastation across several districts. Villages, homes and farmlands have been submerged, forcing residents to grapple with severe losses and desperate conditions.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar embarked on an inspection tour of the hardest hit regions, including Solapur and Latur, to assess the damage and reassure affected communities. In Nemgāva and its surrounding areas in Māḍha taluka, the CM met farmers and residents, hearing firsthand accounts of their suffering.

Many farmers have seen their crops washed away entirely. Some homes and food stocks have been destroyed, leaving families without shelter or sustenance. Locals, including women, described in detail the extent of waterlogging, soil erosion, and losses of property.

In response, the government has pledged prompt support. Without applying onerous criteria, relief will be made citizen-centric and extended to all in need, the Chief Minister said. He assured that aid will be delivered before Diwali, and that strict adherence to rules would not stand in the way of relief distribution.

As the state mobilizes rescue and rehabilitation efforts, the priority remains restoring normalcy, repairing damage, and supporting the livelihoods of the worst-hit communities.
