New Delhi : Delhi Police have busted a Mumbai-based illegal online casino gambling racket that lured users through suspicious links and unauthorised apps. Nine individuals, including the kingpin Bhuvender alias Bhupender (48), were arrested in the operation.

According to officials, the accused circulated fake casino apps hosted outside official app stores. Victims were tricked into installing these applications via QR codes and OTP verification. Once installed, users were persuaded to purchase points with real money to participate in casino-style games. After operating for 2–3 months, the accused would deactivate the app and circulate fresh links to target new victims.

On September 5, during patrolling in Sultan Puri, police received a tip-off about illegal online gambling near DDA Market. A raid was conducted, and nine suspects were apprehended despite attempts to flee.

A search at the spot led to the recovery of ₹85,320 in cash, six computer setups, and other gambling paraphernalia. A case was registered under Sections 3 and 4 of The Delhi Public Gambling Act at Sultan Puri Police Station.

The arrested accused include Suraj (26), Mayank (20), Rahul (26), Rohan (23), Rajender Gupta (40), Dharamvir (33), Dilshad Ahmed (33), and Rajesh Gupta (32).

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
