BMC Provides Water, Sanitation and Toilets for Agitators at Azad Maidan

Mumbai : The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made extensive arrangements to support the agitators who gathered at Azad Maidan for the Maratha reservation protest.

Water Supply: A total of 25 tankers have been deployed to provide drinking water at key protest sites including Azad Maidan, Municipal Corporation Road, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Railway Station, Hutatma Memorial Chowk, Bombay Gymkhana, Haj House, Marine Drive Police Station, Air India Building, Yellow Gate, Shivadi Freeway, Cotton Green Vehicle Base, Vashi Check Naka and Sadar Tank.

Cleanliness: Around 800 sanitation staff have been deployed in and around Azad Maidan to maintain continuous cleanliness. Additionally, dustbin bags are being distributed to protesters for garbage collection, with appeals made to hand over waste to municipal staff.

Toilets: More than 300 toilets, including mobile facilities, have been set up free of cost for protesters. These are being cleaned regularly by BMC staff.

The civic body said these measures are aimed at ensuring hygiene, sanitation, and basic amenities during the large-scale gathering.
