Mumbai : The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has finalized preparations for the upcoming Shri Ganeshotsav, which the Maharashtra government has officially declared as a Rajya Utsav (State Festival) this year.
Additional Metropolitan Commissioner (East Suburbs) Dr. Amit Saini on Tuesday inspected key Ganesh idol immersion sites, including Girgaon Chowpatty (Swarajyabhoomi), Dadar Chowpatty, Mahim Reti Bandar, Juhu Chowpatty, Jogeshwari’s Lokmanya Tilak Ganesh Visarjan Lake, and Powai Lake.
To ensure smooth and safe immersion, BMC has arranged facilities such as proper lighting with CCTV surveillance, drinking water, sanitation, and security deployment. Special measures include the installation of Nirmalya Kalashas, lifeguards, fire brigade personnel, and disaster management teams at all major sites.
Deputy Commissioners Prashant Sapkale, Dr. (Mrs.) Bhag Yashri Kapse, Mrs. Chanda Jadhav, and Santosh Kumar Dhonde, along with other senior officials and staff, accompanied Dr. Saini during the inspection.
