Mumbai : In a tragic incident in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a land dispute escalated into a violent attack, resulting in the death of one individual and serious injuries to two others. The incident occurred in Sambhaji Colony, N-6 area, on Friday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Pramod Padsewan, while his father, Ramesh Jagannath Padsewan, and his son, Rudraksha Padsewan, sustained critical injuries. The attack was allegedly carried out by four members of the Nimone family—Gyaneshwar, Gaurav, Saurav, and Kashinath Yedu Nimone—along with Shashikala Nimone and her son-in-law, Manoj Danve. The police have registered a case at the CIDCO police station and are conducting further investigations.

The dispute originated over the placement of drums for the upcoming Ganesh festival. The Padsewan family had purchased a plot adjacent to their home and had been using it to store drums for the festival. The Nimone family, who were associated with the local Ganesh Mandal, reportedly objected to this arrangement. Tensions escalated when the Padsewan family erected a shed on the plot to store the drums, leading to confrontations. Despite previous complaints to SIDCO about encroachments, the issue remained unresolved.

The situation intensified when the Padsewan family brought construction materials to the site, prompting the Nimone family to demand their removal. This demand led to a violent altercation, culminating in the fatal attack. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the safety and security of residents in the area.

Authorities are urging residents to resolve disputes amicably and to approach legal channels for conflict resolution to prevent such tragedies in the future.
