Mumbai, August 20, 2025 — In a remarkable display of courage and skill, the Mumbai Fire Brigade safely rescued 582 passengers after a monorail got stuck between Chembur and Bhakti Park near Mysore Colony on Tuesday evening (August 19).
Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani personally visited the firefighters to commend their swift and courageous operation, calling it a moment of pride for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
“The Mumbai Fire Brigade has always stood firm in times of crisis. Their loyalty, commitment, and willingness to risk their lives for the safety of Mumbaikars is a matter of great pride,” said Gagrani.
The felicitation program was held at the Mumbai Fire Headquarters in Byculla, attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. Ashwini Joshi, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Suburbs) Dr. Amit Saini, Chief Fire Officer Ravindra Ambulgekar, and Deputy Chief Fire Officer Anil Parab.
