New Delhi, August 15, 2025:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked India’s 79th Independence Day with a powerful and uncompromising address from the Red Fort, declaring, “India has now decided, blood and water will not flow together.” The statement signaled a firm stance on cross-border relations, particularly on issues of terrorism and water-sharing with Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat before leading the national celebrations at the historic Red Fort. Calling Independence Day a “festival of hope and aspirations,” he lauded the armed forces for their courage in Operation Sindoor, a deep-strike mission into Pakistan aimed at dismantling terrorist bases after the deadly April 22 attacks.

In his twelfth consecutive Independence Day speech, the Prime Minister highlighted themes of national unity, security, and self-reliance, underlining India’s determination to safeguard its sovereignty while pursuing ambitious development goals.
