In a fresh provocation against India, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir has sparked controversy with inflammatory remarks during an address to the Pakistani diaspora in the United States. Targeting Reliance Industries CMD Mukesh Ambani in a religious tone, Munir claimed that a tweet had been circulated featuring a verse from Surah Fil alongside Ambani’s picture, intended to signal “what Pakistan will do next.”
In his speech, Munir warned, “We will begin from the east, where their most valuable resources are, and then move towards the west,” in what appeared to be a direct threat aimed at India’s economic assets. The comments have drawn sharp criticism, further straining already tense India–Pakistan relations.
