Mumbai : The upcoming Mumbai Metro Line 7A, part of the city’s Red Line corridor, is set to enhance connectivity between Andheri (East) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Terminal 2.
Key Details:
Route & Stations: Covering 3.17 km, the line will have one elevated station — Airport Colony — and one underground station at CSIA Terminal 2.
Construction Progress: Work began in March 2020. By late 2022, a quarter of the project was completed, and major tunneling started in September 2023 at depths ranging from 6 to 20 meters. The twin tunnels are expected to be ready by December 2024.
Integration: Line 7A will link directly with Metro Line 7 at Andheri (East), connecting commuters from Dahisar East and Mira Bhayandar.
Once operational, Metro Line 7A will provide a faster, smoother, and more convenient link between suburban Mumbai and the airport, reducing travel time for passengers and easing congestion on city roads.
