Congress Blocks Road in Dadar, Protests Against BJP and Election Commission Over ‘Vote Theft’ Allegations

Mumbai : Mumbai witnessed a heated political protest on Saturday as Maharashtra Congress workers, led by state president Harshavardhan Sapkal, blocked a major road in Dadar to demonstrate against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The protest came in the wake of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of large-scale “vote theft” and claims that the ECI was acting in favour of the ruling party. Hundreds of party workers and senior leaders, including Mohan Joshi, Rajan Bhosale, Kishor Kanhe, Atul Londhe, and Anant Gadgil, joined the demonstration, raising slogans and demanding accountability.

Sapkal accused the Election Commission of failing to take action, stating that instead of launching a proper inquiry, the ECI had absurdly asked Rahul Gandhi to submit an affidavit. He stressed that Congress had already provided written evidence to the Commission and filed petitions in the High Court.

The party has announced plans for a statewide campaign, with rallies, marches, and public meetings to press for a transparent investigation and protect democratic principles.
