Mumbai : In a major action against unauthorized constructions in the Kamala Mill area of Lower Parel, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has cancelled both licenses of the restaurant ‘Living Liquids’. The action was carried out under the supervision of Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. Ashwini Joshi, following directives from higher authorities.

According to officials, ‘Living Liquids’ had illegally converted its permitted garment and tailoring shop spaces into restaurant bars and wine shops on the ground and first floors, violating building and zoning norms.

Earlier, on July 31, 2025, similar padkam (demolition) and confiscation actions were taken against several popular outlets in the same area including Theobroma, McDonald’s, Shivsagar Hotel, Nano’s Cafe, Starbucks, Beera Taproom, Toast Pasta Bar (Food by Devika), and BKT House.

The administration has warned that such enforcement will continue across the city to curb illegal commercial conversions and ensure compliance with civic regulations.
