Mumbai : In Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area, around 220 families are facing eviction to make way for a proposed memorial. The affected residents have launched a silent protest against the move, expressing their concerns over losing their homes without adequate rehabilitation.
The proposed site reportedly includes residential areas that have existed for several decades. Residents allege they have not received proper notice or compensation from the authorities. Community members, including women and children, are participating in the peaceful protest, urging the government to reconsider the decision and explore alternative land options for the memorial.
