Thane/Yavatmal: In a significant boost to Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shivsena, three former mayors from the Ubatha group along with several prominent Congress office bearers from Yavatmal district joined the party on Wednesday. The event was attended by Water Conservation Minister and Yavatmal Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod, along with other senior Shivsena leaders.

Among the notable leaders who joined were former NER mayor Pawan Jaiswal, Sunitatai Jaiswal, Vinitatai Misale, and former corporators Sandeep Gaikwad, Sarita Mune, Dilip Maske, Rizwan Khan, Darshana Ingole, and Congress district secretary Lokesh Ingole. Others included Rahul Dehankar, Sajid Sharif, Rakesh Nemnwar, Avinash Deshmukh, Tejas and Rupesh Thackeray, Amol Jadhav, Shubham Rathod, Nilesh Bharti, and Vikram Jade.

The growing support for Shivsena is being attributed to the developmental work carried out by the Mahayuti government over the last two and a half years. Party sources indicated that this was a precursor to a much larger induction program set to take place in West Vidarbha soon.
