Mumbai: In celebration of 11 forts from Maharashtra and 12 forts including Jinji from Tamil Nadu being included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list, a special painting competition was held today across 23 schools under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 5,000 students, who showcased their creativity by painting historic forts.
The program was graced by dignitaries including Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Vikas Kharge at Worli Sea Face School, UNESCO Ambassador to India Mr. Vishal Sharma, Deputy Director of the Archaeology Department Mr. Hemant Dalvi, BMC Deputy Commissioner (Education) Dr. (Mrs.) Prachi Jambhekar, and Education Officer (Secondary) Mrs. Sujata.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness among students about India’s rich heritage and the significance of fort preservation.
