Mumbai : It is with deep sorrow that the literary community mourns the demise of eminent Marathi writer, senior novelist, and literary guide Shubhangitai Bhadbhade, who passed away recently. A towering figure in the world of Marathi literature, she was the driving force behind Padmagandha Pratishthan, a platform dedicated to nurturing and encouraging new writers.
Author of over 80 acclaimed novels, Shubhangitai made a significant mark in the domain of character writing. Her literary work featured powerful narratives on prominent figures such as Swatantryaveer Savarkar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s first Sarsanghchalak Dr. Hedgewar, Golwalkar Guruji, and even Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Her impactful novel ‘Mrityunjayacha Mahayagya’, based on the life of Savarkar, was notably transformed into an audiobook following a personal request. She remained in constant dialogue with fellow literary figures and admirers, often accepting new proposals and extending support to emerging writers.
The passing of Shubhangitai marks the end of an era in Marathi literature. Her guidance, talent, and immense contributions will be missed deeply by peers, readers, and budding authors alike.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, relatives, and the countless admirers whose lives she touched through her words.
Om Shanti. 🙏
