Pune : In a major update in the high-profile Kharadi rave party case, the Sassoon General Hospital’s medical report has confirmed that Pranjal Khewalkar, son-in-law of senior NCP leader Eknath Khadse, was under the influence of alcohol during the party.
The Pune Police had raided a flat in Kharadi on the night of July 27, where a rave party was underway. A total of seven people, including Pranjal, were detained. Police seized drugs, hookah sets, and alcohol from the spot.
After the raid, all the accused were taken for medical tests at Sassoon Hospital. As per sources, Khewalkar’s medical report shows traces of alcohol, though tests for drugs are still pending and have been sent to the forensic lab for detailed analysis.
The rave party incident has sparked political controversy due to Khewalkar’s relation to a prominent political family. While police continue to investigate the presence of narcotics, the confirmation of alcohol consumption adds weight to the charges under the NDPS Act and other relevant sections.
Further legal action will depend on the final forensic reports. The case continues to remain in the media spotlight due to its political links and alleged drug involvement.
