Police Bust Foreign Liquor Smuggling Racket, Seize Stock Worth ₹87,350 from Laptop Shop

Ulhasnagar : In a major crackdown on illegal liquor trade, the State Excise Department and Ulhasnagar Police jointly raided a laptop shop in Camp-3 area and uncovered a foreign liquor smuggling operation. Liquor worth ₹87,350 was seized, and two individuals have been arrested.

The accused, identified as Navin Rameshlal Lund and Pankaj Sunil Tejwani, were allegedly transporting and selling imported liquor illegally, bypassing state taxes and duties. The raid was conducted based on a tip-off near the Derby Hotel petrol pump.

Authorities revealed that the liquor was smuggled from outside Maharashtra and stocked in a commercial shop under the guise of a laptop business. The aim was to sell the liquor locally at high profits without legal permits or licenses.

The arrested individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the operation.

Officials have assured that strict action will continue against those involved in such illegal activities, warning others against similar offenses.
