Cab Booking Delays Continue in Mumbai Even After Ola-Uber Strike Ends

Share:

Mumbai : Despite the recent suspension of the Ola and Uber drivers’ strike in Mumbai, commuters continue to face difficulties in booking cabs, with long waiting times and frequent cancellations.

The drivers had launched an indefinite strike demanding higher fares and better working conditions. Although services have officially resumed after government assurances, many drivers are still not accepting rides via the app platforms. Instead, they are asking passengers to pay in cash according to government-approved fare charts.

This partial service and reluctance to follow app-based fares are causing severe delays, especially during peak hours. Passengers report that cabs are either unavailable or drivers cancel mid-route, leading to widespread frustration.

Legal interventions have also come into play. The Bombay High Court has restrained driver unions from threatening passengers or blocking cabs, urging authorities to ensure smooth operations.

While the strike has been called off temporarily, the situation remains unstable. Commuters hope for a quick resolution as talks between unions and transport officials continue.
