Ahmedabad, July 23, 2025 – In a major anti-terror operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested four suspected terrorists linked to the Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The arrests were made in a coordinated raid conducted across Gujarat, Delhi, Noida, and Modasa.

The suspects have been identified as:
Fardeen Shaikh from Ahmedabad
Mohammad Faiq from Delhi
Zeeshan Ali from Noida
Saifullah Qureshi from Modasa
Seized Materials:
During the raids, officials recovered:
Extremist literature linked to Al-Qaeda
Digital evidence from encrypted and auto-delete messaging apps
A sword
Fake currency
Documents related to a planned operation named “Operation Sindoor”
Radicalisation and Propaganda:
According to the ATS, the accused were actively promoting radical ideologies online through encrypted platforms and social media, especially Instagram. They were allegedly involved in spreading anti-national sentiments and encouraging jihadist propaganda.
Legal Action and Custody:
All four suspects have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Saifullah and Fardeen have been sent to 14-day police custody, while the other two will be presented before the court on July 24.
Ongoing Investigation:
Authorities are now examining digital data and communications to uncover any additional links or accomplices. The ATS is also tracing the funding sources and wider network connections involved in the case.
