Navi Mumbai : The launch of CIDCO’s much-awaited housing lottery has been postponed due to a lack of government clarity on final housing prices. While August 15 was being considered as a tentative launch date, officials now say no final decision has been made.
The delay affects thousands of affordable housing units planned under the PMAY scheme across Navi Mumbai areas like Kharghar, Kalamboli, Taloja, and Mansarovar. CIDCO officials clarified that key approvals regarding pricing and design are still pending, and no official registration process has started yet.
Sources indicate that the Maharashtra government is reviewing whether to revise housing rates, particularly for EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Low-Income Group) categories, after facing backlash in earlier lotteries where prices were seen as unaffordable.
CIDCO urged the public to rely only on official announcements and avoid falling for fake lottery registration messages circulating on social media. The new lottery schedule will be announced once all approvals are in place.
