Pune : Pune Police were taken aback when a criminal in custody, identified as Raju alias Barkya Londhe, vandalized the Sahakarnagar Police Station shortly after being brought in during a combing operation. The accused began smashing the station’s windows and damaging computers, causing widespread alarm among the officers present .
The shocking incident raises serious questions about security protocols at police headquarters. Raju, a known gangster from the Sahakarnagar area, was being detained by police during a crackdown operation when he suddenly lashed out, turning on the very station meant to hold him . Authorities have launched an investigation into the lapse in custody measures and are reviewing whether additional personnel or restraints should be standard when dealing with high-risk detainees.
