Mumbai: In a welcome move for Ganesh devotees heading to Konkan for the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has announced the deployment of 5,000 additional ST (State Transport) buses. The decision aims to ease the travel rush during the festive season.
Minister Sarnaik also revealed that special concessions will be provided—women and senior citizens will receive travel discounts on these routes. The initiative is intended to ensure smoother, safer, and more affordable travel for thousands of devotees returning to their native places in the Konkan region.
The transport department will soon release the full schedule and booking details for these extra buses.
