Mumbai:-

in a troubling case of stalking and harassment, Mumbai’s DB Marg Police have arrested a 25-year-old man, Jameerullah Ehsan Ali Chaudhary, for persistently harassing a minor girl in the Grant Road area.

According to police sources, the ordeal began in February 2025 when the accused allegedly sent a friend request to the girl via social media and began sending her obscene messages. The digital harassment quickly escalated into real-world stalking, with Chaudhary reportedly loitering near a local garage to intercept the girl as she made her way to school.

The situation worsened over the months. On June 10, Chaudhary approached the girl’s cousin and questioned her whereabouts when she was absent. Matters took a threatening turn on June 19, when the accused, accompanied by others, allegedly confronted and intimidated the girl’s father at his place of work.

Alarmed by the escalating harassment, the family filed a formal complaint with the DB Marg Police. Based on their statements and evidence, Chaudhary was arrested and booked under relevant sections pertaining to the protection of minors and criminal intimidation. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about the safety of minors in public spaces and the growing role of digital platforms in facilitating such crimes. Police have urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any signs of harassment promptly.
