A tragic accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl from Dahisar (East) on Sunday evening. Janhvi Savla, a Class 10 student residing in Parichay building, Miskita Nagar, reportedly fell from the terrace of her eight-floor apartment while attempting to take pictures of the sunset.

According to police reports, Janhvi, who lived on the seventh floor, asked her father—who was sitting in the society compound with other residents—for permission to go up to the terrace to click photos. After receiving his approval, she went up alone.

A short while later, her father heard a loud thud and rushed to find Janhvi lying in a pool of blood. Emergency services were called immediately, and she was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Dahisar police have registered a case of accidental death and are currently investigating the circumstances. Initial statements suggest she may have lost her balance near the terrace railing while taking pictures, as no one else was reportedly nearby at the time.

Janhvi was a student at a Cambridge International school. Her father is a garment merchant, and she was their only child. Her last rites were conducted on Monday.

The community remains shocked by the sudden loss of the young girl, and authorities continue to look into the details of this unfortunate incident.
