₹3.72 Crore Palghar Jewellery Heist Cracked in 48 Hours; Five Nepali Nationals Arrested

Palghar, Maharashtra :- The Palghar Police have successfully cracked the high-value robbery at Nakoda Jewellers within just 48 hours, arresting five Nepali nationals near the Nepal border and recovering a major portion of the stolen valuables.

The robbery, which took place earlier this week, involved a carefully planned break-in. The accused allegedly entered the jewellery shop by cutting through a wall from an adjacent premises. Once inside, they used a gas cutter to open the safe and fled with gold, silver, and cash worth ₹3.72 crore.

Police said the gang stole nearly 5.4 kg of gold, 40 kg of silver, and around ₹20 lakh in cash. Based on CCTV footage and technical investigation, teams tracked the suspects across states.

Seven police teams were deployed, leading to the arrest of four suspects near the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh and another accused in Surat, Gujarat. The arrested suspects have been identified as Deepak Narbahadur Singh, Bhuvansing Jawan Singh Cheloune, Jivankumar Rambahadur Tharu, Khemraj Kulpati Devkota, and Arjun Dam Bahadur Soni.

Police recovered approximately 2.25 kg of gold, 41.4 kg of silver, and ₹4.94 lakh in cash, valued at nearly ₹3.28 crore, from the accused. Further investigation is underway to determine if more people were involved in the heist.
