Mumbai : In a major anti-narcotics operation, police have uncovered and demolished a drug manufacturing factory in Vasai’s Pelhar area near Mumbai. The joint raid was carried out by the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell and Tilak Nagar Police.
The illegal unit, located in the Rashid Compound, was reportedly producing MD (mephedrone) drugs. Authorities revealed that the main accused behind the operation is believed to be operating from Dubai.
During the raid, officials seized over 7 kilograms of narcotic substances valued at approximately ₹14 crore in the international market. One individual has been taken into custody, while a search is underway to trace others linked to the racket.
Police sources added that this bust follows a similar raid in Kaman village nearby, where another drug-manufacturing unit was dismantled recently. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full network involved in the operation.
